Corina Lopez

Corina has been a champion for the disenfranchised and disadvantaged since she began her formal political work as a parks advocate two decades ago. She met the most courageous and unapologetic women advocating for public lands through the NorCal Broadband, became involved with them in the Red Road to DC Totem Pole Journey, and stepped up to the Broads’ Board to apply her skills.

Corina is the first person from the Latinx community to be elected as a Councilmember for the City of San Leandro, California and serves on the National League of Cities Board of Directors. She is also Vice Chair and Board Member of the East Bay Community Energy and numerous other boards and steering committees. She is a successful businesswoman of 25 years with strong academic, professional and practical experience in finance.

Corina is keenly interested in the intersection of environmental justice and social justice, especially as it relates to public policy. As a daughter of migrant farm workers, she has dedicated herself to this intersection because she has lived firsthand the serious health consequences of air and groundwater contamination. She believes the land and water are sacred and must be protected as all life is interconnected.
