You are invited to a very special event as author, ecologist, and Willamette Valley (OR) Broadband Leadership Team member Peg Herring discusses her new book, Born of Fire and Rain, at Powells Books in Portland on Thrusday, January 9 at 7:00 PM (Pacific).

Born of Fire and Rain is the story of the temperate rainforests of the Pacific Northwest. From the description: “Here at the tumultuous edge of a shifting continent, the temperate rainforest of the Pacific Northwest has a lot to say about living on a rapidly changing planet. This is a land of ancient trees, exploding mountains, disappearing owls, tsunamis, megafires, and ten million people. It is a land born of fire and rain. Through words and pictures, we will journey beyond the grid of latitude and longitude, into places only our imaginations can fit, to discover what it means to live in an ecological world.”
