Join the Cascade Volcanoes Broadband (OR/WA) from July 18-21, 2024, for a relaxing and engaging camping trip to Camp Wilkerson in northern Oregon!

Camp Wilkerson is Columbia County’s largest park and is considered one of the most quiet and secluded areas in the region. At 280 acres, it offers miles of trails and several camp sites. Remote pathways and roads lead through the park’s dense evergreen and hardwood temperate forest. Trail users can travel on either forest roads, or the single-track 3.5 mile Liahona Trail that loops through the park and crosses bridges over Oak Ranch Creek. Wider forest roads bring riders on five, seven or 10-mile loops, some of which cross small running through the thick forest.

All camping sites include a picnic table and fire ring. Shower facilities are available. Camp hosts are on site most of the year.

We plan to stay in the 3-sided Adirondacks with bunks. Campers will bring their own sleeping pad/mattresses and sleeping bags.   Parking is limited to 10 vehicles.   Limited tent camping may also be available at an additional $7/night.

FOOD

We plan a group potluck for the evening Thursday, July 18.  Friday night we will host a potato bar with chili and other fixings.  A pasta bar will be provided on Saturday evening. Please bring your choice of a dessert or appetizer for happy hour.  Breakfasts and lunch are on your own.

ACTIVITIES

Thursday afternoon we will schedule an optional hike around Liahona Trail Loop.   Biking the Banks Vernonia or hiking amid the Steward Stubs State Park are options for Friday.  On Saturday we will offer hikes to LL Stub Stewart State Park and/or CZ Trail in Vernonia. https://www.columbiacountyor.gov/departments/ParksForestsRecreation/crownz-trail

Other optional activities include a visit to Vernonia’s Pioneer Museum, Grey Dawn Gallery, Farmer Gene’s Bees, or Old Mill at Vernonia Lake.

COST

Cost will be $60 (if received by July 10—after July 10, registration increases to $70) and includes Friday and Saturday dinners, camping, and parking (carpooling necessary).  Because of restrictions, we are limiting registration to 20, although a waiting list will be offered if the event fills.  As we only have 10 parking spots available, please plan on carpooling with one other person.  RV spots are on your own.

Please leave your pets at home!
