May 15-18 | A Float with HeART: San Juan River Upper Canyon Trip
A float of a lifetime! Treat yourself to a women’s watercolor workshop with artist Susan Kearns while you explore the amazing Utah landscape via the beautiful San Juan River.
Great Old Broads for Wilderness has partnered with Holiday River Expeditions and special guests to create an experience of a lifetime—a float with heart!
Susan Kearns has been drawing and painting all her life. She has won awards in juried shows, shown in several galleries, and painted more than a dozen public and privately commissioned murals. She is the former communications director for Great Old Broads for Wilderness and led watercolor workshops at several Broadwalk events over the 10+ years she was on staff.
Learn new watercolor techniques and creative exercises to inspire you as you capture memories of this gorgeous canyon through your paintings. Open to all levels of experience—even those new to watercolor painting. The river forms the northern limit of the present-day territory of the Diné (Navajo) People. For thousands of years, the water of the San Juan River has meant life to various cultural groups; their artifacts still line the walls and side canyons of the river.
Holiday will provide all food and river-specific gear, such as waterproof bags and life jackets. You can bring your own camping gear or rent a kit from Holiday. You’ll receive a list for your required watercolor supplies. All that’s left to pack is your sense of adventure and love of wild places!
Cost: $1495 per person + a tip for the guides
Holiday River Expeditions will donate a portion of your registration fees to the Great Old Broads for Wilderness. Susan Kearns has graciously donated her time and expertise for this adventure.
