October 23 | BROAD TALK: Discover the Owyhee Canyon Canyonlands—Why It Needs Protecting

Date:

October 23, 2024

Time:

5:30-7:00 PM (Pacific)

Location:

Corvallis-Benton County Public Library
645 NW Monroe
Corvallis, OR

Join Willamette Valley Broad and writer, Bonnie Olin, for a richly-illustrated, educational journey into the canyonlands of the Owyhee River in Nevada, Idaho and Oregon, during a talk, slideshow, reading and movie, based on her book, The Owyhee River Journals.

The movie features a 2006 expedition into Deep Creek and the East Fork of the Owyhee. The slideshow features the entire river corridor from Nevada to the Owyhee Reservoir. Olin’s talk will include a little history, geology, and some of the qualities in the Owyhee that make it so special. She will also comment on how you might contribute to preserving the Owyhee as a national treasure. Q & A and book signing follows. Hope you can join us. Bring a friend!

Brought to you by the Mary’s Peak Group of the Sierra Club and the Willamette Valley Broadband of the Great Old Broads for Wilderness.
