Key Issue: Wildlife Protection
Activity Type: Advocacy (rallies, lobbying, meeting decision makers, letters/calls/emails)
Short Description of Activity
EMAC meeting – present were representatives from City of Prescott, ADOT, AZ Game and Fish. It is a given that the existing culvert under Highway 69 where ADOT will be widening in the near future is unacceptable as a wildlife corridor – narrow, dark and needs repair. the same culvert is part of the Prescott Circle Trail and soon will also be included as part of the proposed regional Sun Corridor Trail. In the winter it is icy – right now very wet.
Reflection/Evaluation
ADOT does not have funds appropriated for a new culvert which would be something like 12×8 and 50 feet long – and 30 feet of fill on top of that. Funding is being pursed to make this happen and there is a time restraint because the project has gone out for bids.
