Short Description of Activity
Following a CARE call re: using humor in Broads activism and messaging, Robyn prepared a slide show of examples of past Broads humor as the kick-off to this meeting which was intended to focus on comment writing re: Gov. Polis Governor Consistency Review of BLM UFO RMP final draft; BLM-Gunnison domestic sheep grazing DEIS; and NEPA protest. Comment writing was to be followed by a celebration – farewell to Susan Long (tabling coordinator who is moving) and welcome back to Donna Green (bad ass elder Broad) who was visiting.
Reflection/Evaluation
We had a very small turnout -only 5 members – which was very disheartening to me having spent over 10 hours drafting and compiling talking points for governor’s consistency review, grazing DEIS & NEPA. (Those hours will be reflected in separate activity reports.) We did however have a lively discussion regarding humor in activism/protest and considered marching in the Ridgway Labor Day parade (which we didn’t do given capacity constraints and lack of leadership/energy.) Perhaps we can plan ahead better for the parade in 2020. We also did celebrate our accomplishments and Donna’s presence (Susan didn’t attend 🙁 with some cake and social time.
