Short Description of Activity
Jenny, Steve Cook and Tom Slaback traveled to Perkinsville to locate a spot on the Upper Verde River where we will be taking a sample several times a year for the next few years as volunteers working with ADEQ. Our first sampling will be 6 of us on November 5. Thereafter, in January and April, etc., Jenny will lead the team to the Perkinsville site. Time is of the essence in getting our samples to the lab at Prescott Collegte.
Reflection/Evaluation
Tom gave Jenny and Steve a map and directions to find a trail to the river, along the railroad tracks, down a steep rocky cliff and along the river overgrown with foliage – a lot of cockleburs. We located the spot and recorded the GPS coordinates which we reported to ADEQ scientist Meghan Smart.
