Key Issue: Wildlife Protection
Activity Type: Stewardship (monitoring, sampling, planting, etc.)
Key Partners: CPW/Ridgway State Park
Measurable Outcomes
Outcome 1: Wildlife monitored (11 surveys)
Short Description of Activity
On going raptor monitoring in Zone 10 at Ridgway State Park. We completed nest site monitoring the first week in August and returned to non-nesting protocol for the remainder of 2019. This activity report reflects 11 surveys over a 6 month period.
Reflection/Evaluation
Have continued to meet our commitment to CPW, however the same two or three people are conducting most of the surveys even though we have 10 trained volunteers. Some volunteers leave during the winter; several have experienced medical problems themselves or with family members and some have full time jobs. So we are managing, but we hope to engage and build enthusiasm for this ongoing stewardship project at our December meeting!
