Short Description of Activity
Attendance at Representative Tipton’s Listening Session re: his discussion draft of the Colorado Recreation Enhancement and Conservation (REC) Act. Took place in Ouray with elected officials from 5 counties and one municipality; conservation organizations, business supporters and one Club 20 rep. Pre-hours include a coalition pre-meeting to strategize.
Reflection/Evaluation
See uploads for original agenda and actual meeting notes. We got our point across that conservation partners want Tipton to co-sponsor the CORE Act and NOT introduce a competing bill (i.e. REC Act.) Surprise to see Club 20 represented with focus on promoting extractive economies – especially timber for Montrose Mill.
