Short Description of Activity
I was invited to attend meetings of the Deschutes Basin Water Collaborative that was convened by the Central Oregon Intergovernmental Council and includes representatives from the City of Bend, Deschutes and Crook Counties, local irrigation districts (3), Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs, County representatives, the Deschutes River Conservancy, and three “environmental” groups including the Coalition for the Deschutes and the Broads. The purpose of the group is to “develop a means for key parties to collaborate on critical water allocation and management issues in the Deschutes Basin, and to develop strategies to meet stream flow, agricultural, and community needs for water.”
Reflection/Evaluation
The juries still out whether I will stick with this very slow moving group. They do have an admirable mission 🙂
