Short Description of Activity
USFS Region 2 (which encompasses S Dakota, Nebraska, Colorado, Kansas & Wyoming) sent out an electronic survey re: trails in the spring/summer of 2019 from which they developed a draft Trails Stewardship Strategy and asked for comments. Following a CO Wildlife Advocates monthly call (November) our team of wildlife advocates decided to submit joint comments which Robyn Cascade, Sherry Schenk & Susan Werner drafted.
Reflection/Evaluation
It was a ton of work, but hopefully time well spent. (See uploaded comments) We can only hope our voices for wildlife and ecosystem integrity will be heard as the USFS Region 2 moves forward with revising and implementing this Strategy that so prioritized trail development over habitat protection.
