Short Description of Activity

Meet with Jim Hicks re restarting efforts to add back Mt Baldy area originally left out of Sarvis Creek Wilderness proposal as a set aside for Catamount Ski Area. The Catamount Ski Area was never built and we are renewing efforts to contact adjacent land owners, USFS, elected officials, citizens and stakeholders to lobby for legislation to add this rugged and wild area to the existing Sarvis Creek Wilderness Area.

Reflection/Evaluation

Previous efforts to add Mt Baldy to the Sarvis Creek Wilderness Area failed due to a lack of support from one adjacent land owner. If we can get broad support and are willing to work for many years to come, we may succeed in getting this rugged area added to the SC Wilderness.
