Short Description of Activity
Heard from Beth Malitz about her experience being jailed following the NO Jordan Cove Energy Project rally on Nov 21 and discussed updates around the project including US Rep Peter Defazio publicly coming out against it. We wrote thank you letters to Rep Defazio and notes to Gov Brown urging her to follow his lead.
Reflection/Evaluation
We had the best turn out (21) we have had for an Advocacy Night yet probably due to the interest in our topic, Jordan Cove. This was our first Advocacy Night in a new location. It was not ideal due to the inability to turn the speaker off blasting music and the space being open to the rest of the Mexican Restaurant. That inspired our group to search for a more suitable location for this every other month (in Corvallis) event. Two of our members followed a lead given by another member and found and booked a new location that night.
