Short Description of Activity

On Nov 21, 2019, 7 Rogue Broads joined forces with Broads all over Oregon to protest the Jordan Cove terminal and pipeline in Salem. We are there to demand that Gov. Kate Brown take a stand against climate change and stop the LNG project. We listened to inspiring speakers, then joined together in the Capitol building singing, “We have got the Power” ! Francis E, spent 9 hours in Gov Brown’s office, until she finally came and spoke to the climate activists.

Reflection/Evaluation

Gov. Brown listened for about 10 minutes but still refused to take a stand, so 21 protesters were arrested and spent the night in jail. My immune system wasn’t up for a night like that or I would have been in there! Rogue Climate did an excellent job as always keeping everyone focused on the task! There were approximately 1000 people wearing a sea of Red!!
