Short Description of Activity
This was a one hour webinar presented by a panel of land managers to discuss successful volunteer recruiting practices.
Reflection/Evaluation
The goal of the activity was to increase my awareness about how to retain volunteers for stewardship projects. I think that as an organization we tackle the communication methods well; we can improve in our chapters’ ability to recognize outstanding individuals. One way that would help leaders of broadbands would be if the national membership registration form included what skills /background the members held as well as what languages the members spoke besides English. Then this could be forwarded to the leaders. I know this is more work but we have members in our broadbands who have skills that the leaders are unaware of that would greatly enhance our effectiveness as Broadband chapters.
