Activity Type: Education & Outreach (tabling, films & lectures, regional B-walks/works)
Key Partners: Citizens Climate Lobby-Vancouver SW Washington chapter of national organization
Measurable Outcomes
Outcome 1: Event Attendees (16 people)
Short Description of Activity
Attended and participated in monthly chapter meeting of the Citizens Climate Lobby based in Vancouver Washington, including Portland CCL chapter rep and Blumenhauer staff. Co-chairs reviewed their 2019 achievements and 2020 goals including advocacy and education around climate change and national bill they are supporting. Since our SW WASH. broad activists partnered with them previously, we had already started a relationship. I was able to share a very general description of our new CES Grant, and that they were mentioned as possible partners. They have an upcoming conference Feb 29-March 1.
Reflection/Evaluation
Was able to share with group of 16 some info on GOB and hear their accomplishments and goals. Also connected with rep from trout unlimited who is partner with other regional group (Laurie Kerr attends) involved in wild rivers. Will report back to our leadership team. Agreed to send information on Better Angels to the co-chairs of CCL, which addresses positive listening and cross divides between widely different perspectives.
