Short Description of Activity

letter objecting to FONSI – scoping was August 2017. Placer mining claims for up to 15 years on the Hassayampa River – river is barely a stream. Previous owners abandoned these sites leaving tailing, equipment, etc. We are concerned with the same thing happening, we want them to clear previous tailings, and keep out of the river in dry months when it is needed for wildlife. This is also a recreation area which will deny access to a popular swimming hole. Also, FR 72 will be rerouted to operate these claims.

Reflection/Evaluation

Jenny drafted the letter; Tom Slaback added details based on years of past experience with this project; and Gary Beverley gave final look with no changes and send the letter electronically. Copy sent to you for your files this date.
