Short Description of Activity
My alternate for the Sandia Collaborative and I decided to go for a hike in the proposed wilderness area in Tijeras Canyon to evaluate the appropriateness of expanding wilderness boundaries or compromising with the mountain bikers who want to use some of the potential wilderness for a perimeter trail. We also were trying to evaluate the area for invasives, and a possible training on invasive plant identification for the RGVBB and for the Sandia Collaborative.
Reflection/Evaluation
We had a really nice hike; somewhat shorter than we could have had, but things were starting to get steeper and possibly muddier.
