Short Description of Activity
In a climate emergency, we should stop expanding our fossil fuel infrastructure. Here in Oregon, however, there is a 229-mile fracked gas pipeline and export terminal that is slated to be built and exporting by 2024. While the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) has approved its decision on this fracked gas terminal and pipeline, the fight is not over. We gathered property owners along the pipeline, experts in public health, legal experts and others to remind us why we need to continue to Say No to Jordan Cove.
Reflection/Evaluation
The Cascade Volcanoes were planning to hold an event at the Patagonia Store in Portland, but in the midst of COVID-19, we needed to cancel and pivot to a webinar format. Thanks to Felice Kelly, Broad Extrordinaire, we were able to set up a Zoom webinar. It was better attended that we could have imagined and gave us the “chops” to do this again with other topics.
