Short Description of Activity
NSJBB members responded to a few random action alerts related to fracking, wildlife, & recreation that were not necessarily sent by Broads but are aligned with our mission. In addition, our BB signed on to a protest comment submitted to the USFS region 2 regarding the Dry Gulch EA (adjacent to Loveland Ski Area)that proposes to permit snowcat backcountry skiing operations in this otherwise non-motorized backcountry area that includes considerable Canada Lynx habitat.
Reflection/Evaluation
Since NSJBB signed on to the initial comments re: Dry Gulch, we had status to sign on to the protest comments composed primarily by Rocky Mtn Wild and CMC. CMC maintains a recreation focus but there was sufficient data/objection from a wildlife standpoint to warrant our signing on. See uploaded letter below.
