Short Description of Activity
Gary and Jenny Cobb went out on the Upper Verde (unofficially) and measured waterflow and sediment levels at Perkinsville and Bear Siding. The river is a. a record low which will improve once the monsoon season begins. If Verde Springs ever dries up the river will die at least down to Perkinsville. Gary and Jenny visited with the many campers – one upstream, the other downstream. We picked up an abundance of trash – mostly human waste.
Reflection/Evaluation
Gary has written a scathing letter to the Prescott National Forest about not taking care of this health hazard. Joe Trudeau from Center for Biological Diversity chimed in – they are livid about everything – grazing, mining, and landscape restoration just as we are. The Center has lawyers and will sue. PNF is responding but this not anything new. We are always hopeful. Photographs are on Jenny’s FB page.
