Short Description of Activity

10 Broads were in attendance for the Zoom training call with Casey Andrews, Wild and Scenic River and Wilderness Manager to review procedures for solitude monitoring in MOH wilderness this season.

Reflection/Evaluation

The training itself went great. Casey provided a great slide show with sample data sheets as well as maps. We have not yet been approved to go out into the MOH wilderness but we do have approval for monitoring in the Gorge National Wild and Scenic area which involves 3 zones. I have set up a google sheet with the zones schedules for these 3 zones. When we get approval I will add the rest of the 17 zones and make a separate sheet for each zone. I made a big error in not recording the training session and now I am faced with training the new folks individually and/or going out with them individually since a lot of this maps are only available online and not everyone has this information. I have ordered myself a map of the area from National Geographic website as it was the one recommended by Casey. I have also received the new SPOT device and have it connected and working well. I will also need to teach others how to use it when I hand it off to folks. It is very simple to use and I purchased it at a 50% discount so I am happy about that.
