Field trip to Belle Isle Marsh, a small protected area that is a remnant of salt marsh that originally covered most of MA. Accessible to Boston area members who don’t have cars. Large enough to spread out but in need of assistance with weed removal, signage replacement.
Reflection/Evaluation
Goal was to do a dry-run of a physically distanced visit to this site and to explore possible stewardship activities. Will follow up with MA DCR before offering as a possible site for MA Granite Broads who are looking for individual or very small group stewardship opportunities. Site is easily accessible via T and there are options for physically challenged members to work there.
