Short Description of Activity
Perkinsville Bridge – damage and waste issue with PNF. I asked someone to join me to get a baseline so Jenny and Gary Beverly picked up trash and waste for baseline. Sierra Club Yavapai Group is paying for a porta potty from 8/10 through 9/8 at Perkinsville Bridge. We observed that the porta potties placed there over the Fourth of July Weekend were being used when we went out with the PNF on 7/6 and picked up trash and waste – and discussed what can be done to mitigate the problems. Gary and Jenny will go back out on September 8.
Reflection/Evaluation
we counted approx. 200 clumps of tissue paper laden with doo doo plus a five gallon paint can potty left there. We filled 6 trash sacks. Many people there swimming, drinking beer, jumping off the bridge (water very shallow after no rain), riding ATV and motorcycle. Everyone nice with exception of one young man who completely ignored Gary asking why he had a chain saw. Young man kept turning his back on Gary. Gary sid no fires and no cutting live trees. I always have pictures.
