Short Description of Activity
Educational webinar to understand the issues with the Gila NF plan revision re: Wilderness, Wild and Scenic Rivers, logging, grazing and Mexican Gray Wolves. Looking at and understanding how to use the layers on the maps, etc. and where the most urgent and egregious mismanagement decisions need to be commented upon. Before the webinar, we spent time skimming the forest plan documents, so we could understand the points being made by NMWA.
Reflection/Evaluation
After the webinar, my co-leader and I collaborated on preparing a set of comments about the forest plan and DEIS. Each of us added our own comments, and we also submitted a set from the RGVBB. We did publish a version for the other members of the RGVBB and several others submitted their own comments, using some of our talking points, as well as their own opinions and experiences. It is positive to know how to do a collaborative document and to allow others to add their edits, etc.
