Short Description of Activity
This was a celebration of the GAO Act and of the fuller and permanent funding of the Land and Water Conservation funding.
Reflection/Evaluation
Everyone was relaxed and happy to talk about this bi-partisan legislative victory. Udall pointed out that he thought adding the work “Great” to the act is what convinced the president to actually sign it. Of course the $90 million funding figure was proposed quite a few years ago, and is inadequate in 2020 dollars, but at least it is permanent and the act also included meager funding for maintenance backlogs on other public lands…
