Short Description of Activity
Participated in the monthly meeting of Citizens climate lobby-chapter in Vancouver WAshington. Introduced myself and organization GOB. Our braodband SW WA advocacy committee had partnered with the CCL co-chairs before so they knew us. They were organizing a meeting with our local congresswoman Jamie Herrera Buetler regarding climate change and invited me to participate but it was schedule conflict and phone conference only. I shared with them recent hearing on the planned Kalama fracked gas to methanol refinery.
Reflection/Evaluation
I will share this experience with our CV BB Leader Laurie Kerr; about this meeting and future collaboration/partnering/education with CCL. The primary focus of CCL is climate change, but towards one particular federal bill offering a kind of cap and trade for carbon emissions. CCL cannot advocate for local issues as an organization but can as individuals. Still perhaps we could publicize our current webinar series on climate change impact in chehalis basin.
