Short Description of Activity
Our regional & local mountain bike organizations (Colorado Plateau Mountain Bike Association/COPMOBA & Ridgway Area Trails/RAT respectively) received a $45,000 CPW non-motorized State Trails planning grant for designing a regional trail plan primarily in Ouray County. Following a stakeholder meeting which Robyn attended, the coordinator of the grant Amy Sharp of Sparrow Trails, LLC hosted a public meeting to educate about the proposal and solicit input verbally (which was not recorded!) and via an online survey. Broads attended and actively encouraged other wildlife focused organizations to participate as well.
Reflection/Evaluation
Descent turn out of our interested members as well as partner organizations who value expansive, unfragmented habitat (as well as protection of riparian habitat, alpine tundra, water quality, etc) that is too often negatively impacted by trail development. The four people in measurable outcomes represent leaders from partner organizations who attended that might not otherwise have participated without Broads solicitation.
