Short Description of Activity
doing prep work now to be sure I will be able to do the appropriate sampling techniques safely, Had two trips to the Uncompahgre River site in Confluence Park. Because the water is flowing very fast, cannot do the sampling method of walking in the river. Developed a method to sample using an extension pole where I could grab from areas out in the stream. Then on a second trip experimented with hip waders and being able to get in the stream on the edge to be able to catch sample for oxygenation test. Will be doing monthly sampling after this month.
Reflection/Evaluation
the goal was to be prepared to do monthly sample in a careful and appropriate way. Believe this was met this month.
