Short Description of Activity
Robyn guided Brett Henderson, executive director of partner organization High Country Conservation Advocates, on two hikes over two days into 2 of the 5 landscapes that our coalition is proposing for protection in the GMUG Community Conservation Proposal submitted to the GMUG planning team during the GMUG Forest Plan revision. We climbed to Richmond Pass in the proposed Hayden Mtn Special Interest Area (10,000 acres) and to Grizzly Mine on the Bear Creek National Recreation Trail which is included in our proposal for adding Bear Creek drainage and surrounding area to the Uncompahgre Wilderness (6000 acres.) The goal was for Brett to take photos and videos to be used to educate people about and promote our Community Conservation Proposal.
Reflection/Evaluation
Two fabulous days in autumn foliage, spectacular light, perfect weather… and an opportunity to get to know a coalition leader that I’d never met. Having seen some of Brett’s photos, I imagine we met our goal and will be thrilled with the resulting photography and social media resources.
