Short Description of Activity
Call to Ronni Egan, previous director of Broads and rural Broadband Leader, to discuss how to create a vibrant Broadband in a rural, conservative environment.
Reflection/Evaluation
A pleasant and informative exchange. Three main takeaways came from the conversation were:
You are the only game in town so use it. You will get a high response from like-minded people. (Good motivation to reach out).
Research and find large organizations doing anything in your area, establish relationships with them and participate in public land projects they are spearheading. (I have these connections).
Work with the agencies who are willing to work with you. (I have the same problem Ronni had. The FS would not work with her so she teamed up with the National Park Service for projects. In my area, the local BLM will not respond to me. )
