Short Description of Activity
Beginning in January 2020 Nancy attended all meetings of the council appointed by Governor Bullock to plan wildfire prevention and forest management in the state of Montana. I was the only member of the public at each meeting to participate and comment on the record, in favor of best available science.
Reflection/Evaluation
It was very worthwhile. I was able to introduce many questions into the process about who was included in this collaborative, who was not, and whether best available science was being used to form policies. After participation in 3Q 2020, I was in a position to submit additional formal comments on the record by the October 23 deadline, and spurred other members to analyze and critique the council’s plans as well.
