Short Description of Activity

Francis Eatherington took a trip to the North Umpqua National Forest to see first hand the damage caused by the Archie Creek Fire in early Sept. 2020. Francis reports lots of the highway corridor was badly burned, but there were also pockets of green. The old growth at Susan Creek survived, and it appears that the old growth forest on the other side of the Tioga bridge mostly survived. The old growth across Mott Bridge (just past Steamboat Creek) also looked good — at the trail head. Not sure how far it went.

Reflection/Evaluation

We were able to see which part of the old growth survived and it was mostly good news.
Bogus Creek campground was destroyed, also, Fall Creek Falls trailhead was devastated
but not sure how far.
Francis had the honor of one of her photos making the cover of the Oregonian Newspaper.
