Listen in to AIDEA public meeting public comments while waiting to submit my own oral comments.
Reflection/Evaluation
Signed on 1/2 hour early to submit comments to AIDEA re their resolution to purchase of lease tracts for oil/gas development in Arctic NWR. I never got called on despite it supposedly being in order of sign on. They allowed 2 minutes per comment, for 1.5 hours, and only 2 commented in favor of this resolution. That many people called in to comment despite the 36 hour notice. They subsequently passed the resolution unanimously anyway. Kathy and I discussed this afterwards and decided that one of our future actions will be to try to have a discussion with an active former legislator regarding possibilities of getting AIDEA dismantled and establishing such an agency, if needed, with sufficient oversight as to actions and expenditures.
