Short Description of Activity
Committee reviewing next steps in getting a fish passage made on the Deschutes thru the dam at Mirror Pond. Very controversial issue, focus has primarily been on the dredging of Mirror Pond, who is going to pay for this and not much more transparency with the public regarding decisions. There is also questions regarding if in fact anyone actually does own the bottom of Mirror Pond. Very constructive meeting.
Reflection/Evaluation
Total of 10 members involved. Goal is to focus on fish passage. It doesn’t seem to be making any movement with Oregon Fish and Wildlife, so strategy is to put focus on Pacific Power’s responsibility to construct a fish passage, which might be cost prohibitive which might make them make a decision to take down the dam as it would just be too costly. Followed up with Joanne who has followed this more closely.
