Annual membership meeting…overview of potential stewardship projects as well as ideas for broadchats for 2021. Explained BRATS and also highlighted some possible National broadwalks in the near future.
Reflection/Evaluation
Outlined broadchats for Feb, March and April – potential road surveys (what that looks like and why we are doing them); 21″ screening rule (what are next steps);Invasive species/weed pulling (education on vegetation monitoring and how to report sites with invasive species). Talked about a couple of stewardship project potentials, road monitoring at Mill Creek (outside of Prineville); 3 trips out to show before and after pictures of damage of grazing in riparian areas in the Ochoco’s; Possible stewardship project in the Middle Fork of John Day area. Scott again came forward to offer information regarding hikes and directions to them – since he won’t be able to lead them due to COVID. Also a possibility of camping and stewardship project in the Blue Mountains. Also talked about possible hikes and camping at Mt. Malhuer Field Station.
