Short Description of Activity
Webinar supported by PEW with different states sharing what they are doing, how they are collaborating with migration information since the animals don’t just stay in one state as they move; discussed what kind of decisions this kind of data could lead to in the future; ‘perils’ of releasing some of the data etc.
Reflection/Evaluation
All of this is new material for me and it was really interesting to see that some states have much experience while others admit they are in the early stages of mapping migrating herds. Also, heartening to hear them express importance of this data sharing in light of the habitats changing with climate change, how animals will respond to that and potential for migration of invasive species.
