Attended Colorado Parks and Wildlife Commissioners meeting during discussion of Trails and CO-Outdoor Regional Partnership (COOP) Initiative.
Reflection/Evaluation
Trails Coordinator presented enthusiastically on the Planning Trails with Wildlife document that will be out for public comment very soon. Presented the package of non-motorized Trail Grants that the Commission approved. Commissioners read at least some of grant proposals, want to be sure CPW wildlife concerns are considered, appreciate maintenance emphasis, want to see more grants from E. Plains. No comments about proactively planning for trails rather than system of waiting for grants to come in. COOP regional grants will go first to existing groups that include sustainable Outdoor Recreation partners, with some capacity-building grants.
