Short Description of Activity
We meet every Wednesday for 1.5 – 2 hours to discuss and strategize next steps on the NM Green Amendment in the NM Legislature. This amounted to four (4) steering committee meetings this month. Some participants give reports on interactions and conversations with representatives and senators, or lack thereof if calls and invitations were not received.
Reflection/Evaluation
We were reaching out to our legislators and those of the Senate Rules Committee to find out where they stand and how much they know or don’t know about the NMGA, soon to be known as SJR 3, Senate Joint Resolution 3, Environmental Rights Amendment. Working online does not give us the opportunity to meet with these officials in their state capitol offices. This is one drawback of this legislative session by webcast and very little feedback from our legislators.
