Short Description of Activity
Kathleen and Laurie monitored the lower part of PCT for solitude.
Reflection/Evaluation
The goal of the activity was to document trail users on the PCT. During our 5 hour hike we noted 32 hikers, 1 dog, and 7 low elevation flights. We also monitored 2 campsites for solitude and both showed 0 occupied sites within sight or continuous sound. The only notable event was that Laurie fell off the cliff and slid down the side of the forest but sustained no long lasting effects or broken limbs or such. We dined at Thunder Island in Cascade Locks. Great day of hiking, but since it was also 2.5 miles of hiking before we got to the trailhead and significant elevation, we were both exhausted!
