Landscape/area: Adobe Badlands WSA (10425 acres)
Measurable Outcomes
Outcome 1: Clean-up (2 Other)
Short Description of Activity
Judith took two trips to the Badlands WSA. The first trip resulted in several bags of trash, two couch pillows, and a blanket left at the site. I notified BLM that there was additional furniture that had been left there. By the second trip, BLM had been there and removed the cabinet, bed box springs, and love seat. There was not much new trash so just one small bag removed that time. Melanie Reese did not visit her BLM site this month but was involved in a different stewardship activity.
Reflection/Evaluation
It is an ongoing task to keep the BLM land free of trash. The use of bicycles and motorized vehicles is apparent from tracks on the dunes. BLM is aware of this and unable to prevent this at this time.
