Short Description of Activity
Presentations on climate change and effects on the Middle Fork of the John Day. We did some planting of cottonwood, willow and river birch tree’s. Also got an opportunity to learn more and hike on some of the new Blue Mountain Trail, part of a bigger project.
Reflection/Evaluation
Attendance was lower than we had planned but think the weather had a lot to do with that- we got quite a bit of rain except for the day we planted. The presenters were awesome and Bates State Park was a great place to meet. We have been invited back again in the Fall to not only plant more trees, but also to visit various sites on the Tribes land- it was closed due to COVID protocols. We can also visit their nursery.
