Jean and Laurie monitored Bear Lake trail 413a for solitude.

Reflection/Evaluation

We had a marvelous time and met a women backpacking with her 3-year old daughter at Bear Lake. We noted 11 hikers and 0 dogs. One low elevation airplane and one occupied campsite with a score of 0 was also recorded. We also noted road conditions to Rainy Lake Campground were very poor with high clearance 4X4 trucks even unable to drive the road. This will have a huge impact on our monitoring this season if the FS does not fix the road soon. We have 9 monitoring sessions due at Cedar Swamp. I took pictures of the road and will send them and a long email to Casey, my FS ranger. It was good that I went up there for the day to monitor Bear Lake as we were able to access that monitoring area.
