Short Description of Activity
Barb, Laurie, Lorena and Linda hiked 13 miles RT on the Ape Canyon Trail to the Plains of Abraham, the Pumice Plain of Mt St Helens to view the area that the Forest Service plans to build a road cross to service the Spirit Lake drainage tunnel.
Reflection/Evaluation
It was a beautiful hike starting out in forest with many old growth trees emerging out into the blast zone and hiking onto the pumice plain with it moonlike landscape. The unique beauty of this area is breath taking and needs to be fought for to be preserved for all to experience.
