Tent camping in the Joshua Tree National Monument.
Getting familiar with public land.

Good research. Looking into ranger activities, visitor center, trail maintenance, signage, issues.
Desert issues… endangered species, solar energy projects, etc.
Stopped to visit the Mojave Desert Land Trust but they were closed.
