Short Description of Activity

Diane Spooner is sampling at two sites monthly but did additional ones this month. Judith Lopez has one site in Confluence Park in Delta that is sampled monthly. Samples are taken each time and submitted for assessment of metals. Protocols are done by Diane and Judith monthly to determine Oxygen levels, alkalinity , hardness, and pH. Other data is provided to River Watch on water temperature and river flow. This month Judith collected additional samples for assessment of nutrients in the water. While at this time of year, this was to be an assessment of “high” flow nutrients, the river is way below average at Confluence, at similar to its status during the “low” flow assessment previously done.

Reflection/Evaluation

Goal is being met to provide consistent data on the river to aid with decisions about its health and uses. Judith was informed this month that her site has now been sampled 142 times as other volunteers did this spot previously, thus providing many years of data.
