Short Description of Activity
WHALES leaders were trained to monitor solitude in the Jedediah Smith Wilderness by USFS and WWA staff. In turn, our leaders trained 14 additional WHALES members. WHALES are responsible for 10 subsequent monitoring visits to each of two trails in the wilderness.
Reflection/Evaluation
Response from the WHALES exceeded expectations, and all seem to be happy to help the Forest Service manage the wilderness in our own back yards.
