Short Description of Activity

On short notice, NSJ Broads hosted the House of Tears Carvers’ totem with presentations by Phreddie Lane and Jewell James. Ridgway Mayor John Clark welcomed people; Robyn Cascade offered a land acknowledgment after checking with Phreddie if doing so was appropriate and local musician Kathryn Kubinyi played Native American flute.

Reflection/Evaluation

The event was well received and nearly 100 people were in attendance. We have heard many positive comments about how attendees were moved, educated and heart-broken by the sharing of stories. Though we did not have a media reporter in attendance, the local paper did reach out to the tour (namely Diron Montgomery) print a photo. I sent a link to the newspaper page in a separate email.
