Short Description of Activity
During his campaign, President Biden pledged to take an all-of-government approach to confront the climate crisis. His administration began with an executive order that put a moratorium on all new oil and gas leasing on public lands. However, that order has been met with a court injunction requiring the administration to offer new leases — and they’ve immediately offered up a slew of public lands for new leasing, drastically contradicting their campaign promises. In this webinar, we’ll give you a preview of what the administration might do next, hear stories from folks fighting these leases on the ground, and offer ways we can continue pushing the administration to take bold action on climate change.
Reflection/Evaluation
Good information, but that’s something that will be hard to fit in this fall around the five NM forest plans that need responses this fall. I will probably follow the leads provided by the Sierra club, etc.
